I started coaching because fitness changed my life. Not just physically, but mentally too. It taught me resilience, discipline, and how to keep going when things got difficult.
These days, I get to share that with other people. I coach kids' football, I've helped people reach their dream weight, and I've worked with everyone from complete beginners to people taking on their first HYROX. Seeing someone achieve something they genuinely didn't think they could do is still one of my favourite things about this job.
I like to practise what I preach, too. I've raced HYROX doubles in under an hour, run an 18:15 5K and a 39:17 10K, and even run 104 kilometres in one go. I'm passionate about bodybuilding, strength training and endurance sports, and after 13 years in the gym, I'm still learning, improving and finding new challenges to take on.
And despite all the training and competing, I'm just a normal bloke who enjoys a good laugh. I take coaching seriously, but that doesn't mean every session has to be serious. We'll work hard, have a laugh, and probably talk a fair bit of rubbish along the way.
Whether you're trying to lose weight, get stronger, build confidence or chase a new personal best, my approach is the same. Meet you where you are, help you get where you want to be, and hopefully make the whole process something you actually enjoy.
The transformation isn't the weight lost. It's becoming the person who no longer quits on themselves.
